Is There Such Thing As A Perfect Password?
I don’t think there’s such thing as a perfect password. A committed hacker can likely crack any password, given enough time and resources (such as a dictionary or brute-force tools and high computer processors.
BUT! If the password is strong enough with another form of security layer such as 2FA – 2 Factor Authentication, the hacker will become discouraged and likely give up before the protection fails.
Choosing a strong password is to discourage the hacker and also give the system admin to discover if someone is trying to hack into his/her system or account. However, there are recommended simple guidelines in creating a very strong password by using combinations of Special characters, numbers and alphabets. What if you are to create multiple accounts without reusing the same password? Can you even recall all the password you generate? I have talked about it in my Podcast here. Listen and practice the simple guide in managing all your passwords.
In this podcast, we talked about trusted Password Manager, and how it can help us generate a strong password and manage all our passwords in one place. The beauty of some password manager is that you can do Password Checkup on your saved passwords to strengthen your security. A password manager also helps you know if any of your passwords were compromised, see how strong they are and if you’ve used any more than once.
